Paseky nad Jizerou
Paseky nad Jizerou is a typical mountain municipality on the range of Giant Mountain (Krkonoše) in the area of Krkonoše National Park (Krkonošský národní park). It is situated on the right side of Jizerský důl, Hromovka and Kapradník are the mountains above it. There is a rocky ridge Mechovice in the middle of the municipality. Although the municipality was probably founded in the 16th century, the oldest record is from 1654. At this time there were the oldest parts of the municipality called Makov glass works and silver was mined in Havírna.
Skiing
Lovers of skiing enjoy perfectly groomed cross-country trails as well as slopes. Artificial snow is provided by snowmaking cannons in case of lack of natural snow. There is one four-seat chairlift and there are 4 ski lifts in the municipality. Ski rentals, ski school and downhill and cross-country ski services provide an outstanding full service.
